The so-called portable version is a kind of portable- after the work is completed the user can unload the drive. I have not tested ImgDrive thoroughly (for example I have not played with Create ISO Image and Copy Disc) but my first impressions (of the installer version) are very good, I prefer it to the more powerful commercial program I have, for example, in contrast with the commercial program, after installation ImgDrive doesn't require restart to mount virtual drives and the user may specify the driver letter for the virtual drive.
